All documents must be in English or Hungarian. Documents in other languages must be translated and notarized. Ensure all documents are clear, legible scans of the original documents.
Identification Documents
Essential personal identification documents required for application verification.
- Valid passport bio page (must be valid for at least 6 months after application deadline)
- Birth certificate with notarized translation if not in English/Hungarian
- Two recent passport-sized photographs (35x45mm, white background)
- Name change document (if applicable)
Academic Records
Certified copies of all academic transcripts and diplomas.
- High school diploma and transcript for Bachelor's applicants
- Bachelor's degree and transcript for Master's applicants
- Master's degree and transcript for PhD applicants
- Transcript of records must include all completed courses and grades
- Documents must be certified by the issuing institution
Language Proficiency
Proof of language proficiency for the language of instruction.
- For English programs: IELTS (min. 5.5), TOEFL iBT (min. 60) or equivalent
- For Hungarian programs: Proof of Hungarian proficiency (B2 level minimum)
- Waived if previous degree was taught in the language of instruction
- Certificate must be valid at the time of application
Medical Certificate
Medical certificate of satisfactory health condition.
- Issued within the last 6 months
- Must be completed on the official Stipendium Hungaricum form
- Signed and stamped by a licensed physician
- Must include negative HIV, Hepatitis B and C test results
- Must declare absence of infectious diseases
Letters of Recommendation
Two recommendation letters from academic or professional references.
- At least one must be from an academic referee
- Must be on official letterhead with contact information
- Should include referee's position and institution
- Must be signed and dated
- Should specifically address your suitability for the scholarship
Statement of Purpose
Motivation letter explaining your academic interests and goals.
- 1,000-1,500 words in length
- Must specifically address your chosen program and university
- Should outline your academic background and research interests
- Must explain how the scholarship will help achieve your goals
- Should discuss your future plans after completing studies
Proof of Employment
Required only for applicants who have work experience.
- Employment certificate(s) from previous employers
- Must include position, responsibilities, and duration
- Should be on company letterhead
- Relevant only for programs requiring work experience
- Not required for recent graduates without work history
Portfolio/Publications
Required for arts programs or research-based applications.
- Art portfolio for architecture, design, or fine arts programs
- List of publications for PhD applicants
- Research proposal for PhD applicants (5-10 pages)
- Must be relevant to your chosen field of study
Important Document Submission Notes
- All documents must be scanned in high resolution (300dpi) with clear text
- Documents must be uploaded as separate PDF files with descriptive filenames
- Certified translations must include translator's credentials and contact information
- Application will be automatically rejected if any document is missing or incomplete
- Keep original documents as you may need to present them during visa application
- Documents submitted after the deadline will not be considered
